NICHOLSON is a live electronica project based out of Mumbai, India and is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Sohrab Nicholson and producer/drummer and multi-instrumentalist Rohan Ramanna. Soon after meeting, they began to co-write their first EP together at Cotton Press Studio.
Since, they have put out a second EP and have continued to play to audiences across the country and internationally, at venues and festivals such as the South Bank Centre in London, Glasgow’s Concert Halls, Nh7 Weekender, Stage 42 Festival, Magnetic Fields Festival, Ziro Festival of Music and the Great Escape Festival in Brighton to name a few.
Their music is an amalgamation of the similarities and disparities in their individual tastes. Heavily influenced by Jazz, Folk, Pop, Electronica, Soul, RnB, Hip-Hop, feature film scores and not bound by genre, Nicholson as a project aims to put forward a live show that stylistically evolves, to bridge the gap, so to speak, between electronic and organic music lovers.
The Live show features Sohrab Nicholson on synth/keys and vocals; and Rohan Ramanna on live drums and auxiliary percussion.
Sohrab Nicholson for Nicholson is a solo show featuring Sohrab Nicholson on synths and Vocals.
Additionally, for festivals; the show occasionally scales up to include frequent collaborators the Dirty Jay’s (Jehangir Jehangir and Stuart DaCosta).
